Kimberley Wright is the proud owner of Smoke & Bubble. Despite a personal preference for staying out of the spotlight, she is passionate about her business standing center stage. Kimberley has always nurtured a dream of becoming a business owner. Over the years, she has explored a variety of entrepreneurial ventures, but none sparked her passion until Smoke & Bubble.
Kim left her 18-year career as a paralegal due to health concerns, later identified as stress-related. She transitioned from her stressful profession to the craft of making handmade soaps and candles. This decision brought her not only joy but also significant health improvements.
Kim credits her husband as the catalyst behind Smoke & Bubble. An unlikely enthusiast of handmade soaps, he suggested the idea of crafting their own soap. Always eager to dive into creative projects, Kimberley enthusiastically took up the challenge.
After extensive research and experimentation, they created their first soap loaf, which was a hit. Encouraged by their success, her husband suggested they try their hand at making candles. That marked the birth of Smoke & Bubble.
Kimberley’s passion for her business is evident in every aspect of Smoke & Bubble. She loves immersing herself in research, creating unique scent blends, and crafting their products. Her husband’s support is invaluable, and together, they take immense pride in creating clean and non-toxic items. Her role in the business has ignited a growing passion and given her renewed purpose.
She is dedicated to creating not just any soaps and candles, but ones that uphold high-quality standards, while remaining affordable for her customers. Such meticulous attention to detail is what sets Smoke & Bubble apart in the market.
Every business journey has its challenges, and Kim’s is no exception. Her biggest struggle is her impatience. She credits her husband for helping her overcome this, guiding her to slow down and take one step at a time.
Today, Kimberley is in a state of happiness and health that far surpasses her previous experiences. Her husband fondly refers to their business as a family endeavor, with a “board” consisting of Kimberley, himself, and their three pets. They each contribute in their unique ways: Swede, their Saint Bernard, is the scent approver; Bailey, their Goldendoodle, acts as the manager; and Thor, their smallest pet, is the supervisor. Kimberley wholeheartedly agrees with this family business setup and is excited about the future prospects of Smoke & Bubble.
Kim has big dreams as she envisions a brick-and-mortar store in Springfield, Missouri that goes beyond just selling their products. The store would also feature local gifts, with an area for making candles and soaps, and even hold classes for those interested in the craft.
What brings Kim immense happiness is the ability to provide affordable, high-quality products to her customers. She takes pride in offering products that are not just excellent but also accessible to regular people. It’s this commitment that has won Smoke & Bubble a loyal customer base.
Kim Wright’s story is a testament to the power of passion, hard work, and a commitment to quality. It’s a journey from the corporate world to the crafting table, a transition that has lit up not just candles, but also the lives of many customers.
